Frequently Asked Questions
Where do my files live?
Your Files stay within the directories that you designate when you set up your
services. The TezLink iTunes service automatically syncs the iTunes music files
and playlists by reading the iTunes library file. By default the TezLink file
service replicates data located in the My Documents\TezLink directory. You can
change this location by logging into your account on the TezLink web site and
choosing the custom configuration setting.

What about security? What about Privacy? What about viruses and other
dangerous files?
TezLink works on a Peer-to-Peer architecture that only communicates with the PCs
within PIN. All user names and passwords between TezLink agents are encrypted. Only files
and application data are exchanged there is no intrusion into your PC. There
are no viruses that will be introduced externally into your PIN.
What about DRM issues?
Duplicating files that are obtained illegally is against the law. TezLink
discourages this type of illegal activity and reminds users that they are
responsible for using all services in a legal manner. Your TezLink replication
service contracts specifies that you must be the owner or primary operator of
all the computers in your PIN.
How much does it cost?
TezLink is free for two computers. For the production service, adding
additional computers will require a small monthly charge for each additional
computer within your PIN. See the account billing section for more details.
What is a Personal Information Network (PIN)?
A PIN is a group of computers that you own or operate that contain or
provide secure access to your personal information. PINs are also known as
darknets because they are private personal networks that are not visible to
the general public.
How can my friends participate in my PIN?
Your friends will soon be able to browse your playlists and stream your music or
videos, via the TezLink access module that is under development.
How many computers can I have in my PIN?
You can have up to five computers in your PIN.
How large a database can tezlink handle?
Tezlink can easily process 2000 music files and data files in a sync cycle. Tezlink can process up to 10000 music and data
files in a normal sync cycle. If you want to sync more than 10000 music and data files, then you should increase the sync
cycle to 3600 seconds or more. This cycle setting can be changed through the "My Tezlink" online account.

Does TezLink work with personal firewalls?
TezLink should work with any firewall and router
hardware/software.
TezLink needs unrestricted outgoing TCP connections to some TCP ports. If you
fail to connect to the TezLink, it is likely that your firewall is blocking
these and you need to open up some outgoing TCP connections. Note that this is
about outgoing connections, not incoming connections. In most firewalls,
you have to specify a destination port or port range to open. Ideally, outgoing
TCP connections to all ports (1..65535) should be opened. Please use our tech
support reporting form to report when you have experienced a problem with
TezLink and a firewall. Learn how to set major firewalls to allow TezLink to
run:
Windows XP SP2 Firewall
Norton Personal Firewall
Zone Alarm Pro
McAfee Firewall Pro
